The Sun – Page 3 Finished?

It will be sad if a noisy minority group get their way by having a British tradition like Page 3 be no more. Hopefully Daily Star won’t follow in their footsteps and finish as well. Women deserve equal rights, so where are their rights for grown adults choosing a career path that makes them feel sexy and empowering? They aren’t breaking no law and they definately aren’t harming anyone. Those who don’t like Page 3 know what page the boobs are on if they want to avoid them. Freedom is a big thing in the western world, and this is setting everything back.

Where is the campaign for newspapers to stop showing pictures of topless men such as those in underwear campaigns? I’m not offended by guys showing off their bodies and have no issues with either sex flashing some skin. It will take more than this for a newspaper blighted in so many bad press stories over the years to be liked by more. What happens if the newspaper loses sales? Will it be brought back by Murdoch?

People shouldn’t be offended by a pair of boobs. Nobody buys a newspaper because they can see breasts. If they wanted to they would browse on the internet and find plenty of them. Both men and women should be able to model topless as equals. If these women choose to do Page 3 that only concerns them. It’s nobody elses business what they want to do for a profession. There are many worse things happening in the world that could do with a campaign. This one comes across like a killjoy, which is sad.

Ken Morley – Should He Have Been Thrown Off Big Brother?

The only reason i’d have taken Ken out of the house is for him repeating a word many find offensive that he’d already been told not to. That aside I genuinely don’t think he acted too badly. From the moment he joined the house he was set upon by others who put him up for eviction straight away. If I was 21 or any other age and someone in their seventies complimented any part of me, including my bum i’d take it as harmless banter and find it funny. It wouldn’t at all be offensive to me but I realise everyone is different.

If someone compliments you on your looks you should be happy that someone doesn’t find you unattractive and ugly. If you wear very little you are going to get people staring at you as it’s instinct. If it was a woman in her seventies complimenting a young guy on his six pack there would be no uproar at all, just like when Edwina Currie perved all over Jake Quickenden on I’m A Celebrity. He took it exactly how it was intended and came across very well. I believe alot of what he said was tongue in cheek and an attempt to try and get himself some airtime. I don’t think anything malicious was meant by any of the incidents he was involved in.

He should have known better than to say the comments he said to Alexandra and Keith, but that’s more down to the era he was brought up in. An era where characters like Alf Garnett were made for laughs on a show that no tv station dares to air repeats of in this day and age, despite the big fan following it had. Alexandra was the only person who could be genuinely offended in the house by the comments Ken said to him and even he realised no harm was meant by them. He even carried on hanging around with Ken and having a laugh with him.

It was brave of him to go on Loose Women and risk the wrath of a pack of wolves baying for his blood. Channel 5 have gone mad with political correctness. They know they type of people they want for the show and what they want to happen for the viewing figures. They encourage people not thinking straight by giving them booze on a pretty much daily basis. TV executives will be too scared to give him work, so I expect he will now have to stick to relying on adverts and panto work.

Ched Evans – Will He Play Football Again Professionally?

Plenty of people have a view on if Ched Evans should be allowed to play football again. This isn’t just football fans because the case of his conviction and release from prison after half his sentence has captured the immagination of the wider public. Guys like Lee Hughes and Luke McCormick have caused death and been allowed to play again, so why is the case of Ched treated differently when whilst he’s been found guilty of a serious crime he’s not killed anybody? For many people it comes down to the lack of remorse shown by him. The remorse shown by Lee Hughes and Luke McCormick who is now the captain of Plymouth Argyle can be seen here…….

They both got into contact with the families their actions hurt and thus were accepted more back into society. Alot of football fans still don’t think they should have been allowed back into football, but we are a country of second chances and rehabilitation to stop re-offending. I can see no way back into football for Ched if he carries on protesting his innocence. It’s not normal behaviour either to share a drunk girl behind the back of your girlfriend that has just made love to your mate. She’s got to live the rest of her life under new indentities in fear of being found and it should never be forgotten that she’s the victim here.

He’s currently trying to get his conviction overturned. If it happens then his route back into football will be alot easier and more clubs will take a punt on him who currently are worried about losing sponsorship money by hiring him. Another question is how good will he be after three years away from the game? It wouldn’t be easy for him to find his old form or to deal with the abuse he’d get from the stands. Even many of his own supporters won’t want him at their club, especially those who have daughters of their own. If his ongoing appeal doesn’t take away his conviction what will he do then? The ending of the story appears to be far from over one way or another.
